Folklore Is Identity - Preserving the Soul of Cuba
A Mission of Culture, Family, and Future Generations
The Health of a Nation Lives in Its Folklore
The health of a country depends greatly on the love, respect, and connection its people maintain with their own folklore. Folklore is not simply music, dance, costumes, stories, or customs. It is the living memory of a people. It carries the voice of the ancestors, the rhythm of the homeland, the wisdom of families, and the spiritual beauty that gives a culture its unique identity.
When a nation begins to discard its folklore, it begins to lose something sacred. Little by little, its roots weaken. Its people may still speak the language, live in the land, or carry the name of the nation, but something deep inside begins to fade. A country that forgets its folklore risks losing its soul.
Folklore Is Not the Past—It Is Life
Many people mistakenly think folklore belongs only in museums, history books, or old photographs. But folklore is alive. It lives in the dance of the danzón, the rhythm of the drums, the elegance of traditional dress, the stories told by grandparents, the songs sung at gatherings, and the values passed from one generation to the next.
Folklore keeps culture vibrant because it gives people a sense of belonging. It tells young people, “This is where you come from. This is who you are. This is the beauty you carry.”
Cuba’s Cultural Treasure
Cuban folklore is one of the richest cultural treasures in the world. It is a powerful blend of history, music, dance, faith, family, sacrifice, joy, and creativity. From the elegance of salón traditions to the energy of Afro-Cuban rhythms, Cuban folklore reveals the heart of a people who have always transformed struggle into beauty.
To preserve Cuban folklore is to preserve dignity. To promote it is to give future generations a gift that cannot be replaced.
Serving the Community Through Culture
Our mission is to preserve and promote the folklore of Cuba by serving the community, especially the next generations. We believe that culture should educate, inspire, and bring happiness. It should bring families together. It should help young people feel proud of their roots while learning values that strengthen their character.
Inspired by the family values and moral vision of the Apostle José Martí, we seek to educate with love, uplift with culture, and create meaningful experiences that bring joy to children, parents, grandparents, and entire communities.
A Vision for One Million Families
Our goal is bold and heartfelt: to educate, bring love, and share happiness with 1,000,000 young people and families each year. This mission is not only about preserving the past. It is about building the future.
Because folklore is identity. Folklore is culture. Folklore is family. Folklore is the heartbeat of a people.
When we preserve Cuban folklore, we preserve the soul of Cuba for generations to come.
